When a ward or unit has no equipment budget for a therapy robot, a hospital foundation, auxiliary or charity is often where the money comes from. The funder either buys the unit or gives the hospital the money, and in most cases it wants a written quote before it commits.

What a funding application usually needs
- A written quote with the unit price, GST, freight and warranty.
- The ward or unit, and which patients or residents would use the robot.
- The staff who will run sessions, clean the unit and keep it charged.
- How results will be recorded and reported back to the funder.

PARO is listed in Australia from $6,500 per unit. A distributor’s formal quote is the figure to put in an application, since it includes freight and any GST.
